Nagpur Police Rescues 38 Laborers from Human Trafficking Ring

Rescue Operation Details

The Nagpur police successfully rescued a total of 38 laborers, including 23 women and nine minors, from a human trafficking network. This operation was confirmed by Police Commissioner Ravindra Kumar Singhal on Sunday.

Singhal revealed that the rescued individuals hailed from Chhindwara district in Madhya Pradesh. They were lured under the pretense of work related to soybean harvesting, but their actual destination was Satara.

According to Singhal, the rescue was initiated based on information received from a non-governmental organization. The Nagpur police coordinated with Anuj Tare, the Superintendent of Police in Washim district, to carry out the operation. It was reported that the agents had extorted ₹57,000 from the victims. Cases of trafficking and extortion have been registered at the Sitabardi police station.
